Pictures of Veterans Needed

flyer to color On Friday, November 10th the 5th grade Ambassadors Team is putting on the annual Veterans Day Assembly including a video with pictures of Veterans.

If you have a special Veteran who you would like to see in the video, it can be a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, please send a digital copy to Lisa Carpenter.

Pictures are due by Wednesday, November 1st.


Literary Pumpkin Time

Students (and their families) are invited to showcase a Literary Pumpkin to celebrate Literacy and Halloween!

Simply decorate a smaller-size pumpkin or gourd as your favorite literary character.

Bring your pumpkin and completed form to school on Monday, October 23rd.

Treat bags with a $1-off Book Fair Coupon will be given to all participants. Volunteers to assist with pumpkin drop off are needed to make this event a success.

Halloween Costume Donations

If you have any costumes that your children have outgrown, please consider donating them to Community Outreach and the Glen Ellyn Children’s Resource Center.
New or gently used, non-violent themed costumes are always needed for District 41’s children in grades K-8.
Starting October 2 please drop off costumes in the box outside our school’s front office by Friday Oct. 6th.


PTA Reflections Contest deadline is Monday, Oct.16th

Reflections is a National PTA arts program that asks children to get creative! Students can create works in any of 6 different arts categories, reflecting upon this year’s theme, “Within Reach”. The categories are dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography & visual arts. Projects can advance through district, region, state & national levels of the program

The Ben Franklin PTA Webstore will open on Monday, Aug. 7th!  Access the Webstore  Register for fun PTA activities, clubs and events throughout the year.  Great volunteer opportunities are also available for sign-up.  Don’t forget to renew your PTA membership for the 2017-18 school year!  Many activities start soon, so please visit the Webstore this week!

There is an easy way to get your kiddos smiling faces in the yearbook.  Download the free ReplayIt app.  This works directly with our Jostens yearbook creation site. 
The yearbook team can pull photos you add directly from the app.  It is quick and easy.  Snap, select and hit send.

Ways to Help Raise Money for Our School!

Dine-out Events – At various times throughout the year, Ben Franklin families and friends will have the opportunity to earn money for our school by dining at local restaurants that will donate a percentage of sales back to Ben Franklin School.  Mark your calendars and take a night off from cooking dinner!
